Delete your Dhana account

Version of 12 September 2026 · Français · Deutsch

Deletion is immediate and final. It asks for no justification, no exchange of emails and no cooling-off period.

From the app, in two steps

This is the normal way, and the fastest:

  1. open Settings;
  2. tap Delete my account, then confirm.

The account is erased from the server the moment you confirm.

Without the app

If you have uninstalled Dhana or no longer have access to your phone, write to rene@perihelie-labs.net from the email address of the Google account you used to sign in, with “account deletion” in the subject line.

This requirement is not a formality: it is what lets us check that the request really comes from you, without asking you for any other proof. Deletion takes place within thirty days, and usually within forty-eight hours.

What is deleted

After this, no data on our server identifies you any more.

What is already on your phone, and that we cannot erase

Your shelf, your flashcards, your review history, and the sentences and notes you wrote have never left your device: we have no copy of them, so nothing to delete. To erase them, uninstall the app, or clear its data from the Android settings. Remember to export them first if you want to keep them.

What is not deleted, and why

The cards produced at your request stay in the shared catalogue. They carry no trace of who asked for them — no identifier, no account date, no address — and serve the users who come after you. Erasing them would therefore protect nothing, and would make the catalogue poorer for everyone.

The server's technical logs — what it wrote, refused or missed, with no IP address — are kept for thirty days and then erased automatically. We do not search them to find a deleted account.

Accounting records linked to a subscription, if you had one, are kept for as long as tax law requires. They serve no other purpose.

And your subscription, if you have one

Deleting your Dhana account does not cancel a subscription taken out on Google Play: the two live in different places. Cancel it from your Google Play subscriptions before deleting your account; otherwise you would keep being charged for a service you could no longer use.
